According to the DMN report, North Texas’ growth rate can partly be attributed to transplants from the coasts moving to the region. In the 12-month period, the Dallas-Plano-Irving part of the region added 224,400 new jobs, while the Fort Worth-Arlington side saw only 70,300 new jobs added. However, new job creation wasn’t spread evenly across the local region. In terms of job growth rate in non-farming industries, the DFW area saw an increase of 7.7%, second only to Las Vegas among metro areas with more than 1 million residents. That puts the region behind only the New York and Los Angeles areas, which have significantly larger workforces.
